Firewall

In computing, a  firewall  is a network security system that monitors and controls incoming and outgoing network traffic based on predetermined security rules. A  firewall  typically establishes a barrier between a trusted internal network and untrusted external network, such as the Internet There are  three  basic  types of firewalls  that are used by companies to protect their data & devices to keep destructive elements out of network, viz. Packet Filters, Stateful Inspection and Proxy Server  Firewalls . Let us give you a brief introduction about each of these. A  firewall  is a system designed to prevent unauthorized access to or from a private network. You can implement a  firewall  in either hardware or software form, or a combination of both. Firewalls prevent unauthorized internet users from accessing private networks connected to the internet, especially intranets. The five  types of firewall  are: Packet filtering firewall . Circuit-level gateway. Stateful inspecti

Cybercrime: Online payment systems to be prime targets in 2020

More cybercriminal groups will target online payment processing systems in 2020, researchers from global cybersecurity and anti-virus brand Kaspersky have warned. Over the past couple of years, so-called JS-skimming (the method of stealing of payment card data from online stores), has gained immense popularity among attackers.

Wide area network

A wide area network ( WAN ) is a telecommunications network that extends over a large geographical area for the primary purpose of computer networking. Wide area networks are often established with leased telecommunication circuits. A computer  network  that spans a relatively large geographical area. Typically, a  WAN consists of two or more local-area  networks (LANs). Computers connected to a  wide-area network  are often connected through public networks , such as the telephone system. They can also be connected through leased lines or satellites.

A wide area network ( WAN ) is a data network, usually  used  for connecting computers, that spans a wide geographical area.  WANs  can be used  to connect cities, states, or even countries. A  LAN  ( local area network ) is a group of computers and network devices connected together, usually within the same building. ... A WAN  connects several  LANs , and may be limited to an enterprise (a corporation or an organization) or accessible to the public. The technology is high speed and relatively expensive.

peripherals, and even IoT devices. Switches, routers, and wireless access points are the essential  networking basics . Through them, devices connected to your  network  can communicate with one another and with other networks , like the Internet. Also known as IT networking skills, they involve the following: Analytical skills. Computer skills. Communication. Problem-solving. Multitasking. Research. Interpersonal skills. A  network  consists of two or more computers that are linked in order to share resources (such as printers and CDs), exchange files, or allow electronic communications. ... Two very common  types of networks  include: Local Area  Network  (LAN) Wide Area  Network (WAN)
